File sharing
is the “sharing and transmitting of computer data” through a network or the
internet. Data is shared and transmitted from computer to computer so multiple users
can access it (King, 2007).
- What is P2P File sharing?
P2P file
sharing is peer-to-peer file sharing. It follows the same function as file sharing
with the addition of individuals using software that searches and finds files
needed on other computers/networks.
- What are some examples of P2P file sharing?
Some examples
of P2P file sharing include Limewire (known for sharing and accessing music), BitTorrent
(gained popularity for getting Tv shows/movies) and Gnutella.
